Yeah, I am a slacker!!

It has been quite a while! Life is so busy right now! Andrew is growing like a weed and he is getting so smart! He amazes me every day! Work is going well. I just wish everyone would get on the same page, and that a few certain people would quit! That would make going to work easier! I love my kids though!

School is almost over for the semester! Yeah! Accounting is kicking my rear! Besides that class, I should have all A's and B's! I am registered for four classes in the spring and two in the first summer session and then.....drum roll please.....I AM DONE!!! YEAH!!! I won't have a graduation ceremony until August, but the classes will be done! Jessica graduates in December. She will be the first grandchild to graduate from college. Jordan went for her first college visit this past week. She is extremely intelligent and her possibilities are really endless!! She might play ball in college, I think that would be really cool! Two out of three girls playing college ball.

This will be Andrew's second Thanksgiving and Christmas, I am really excited because I know he will be more into it than last year! He loves Christmas lights! In a few years when he can really appreciate it, Dad is going to go all out and decorate his house for Andrew. Speaking of going "all out for Andrew" my Dad built two new fish ponds in their backyard. One doesn't have fish and is small with a huge fountain that flows under a small bridge and into a HUGE fish pond. Dad says, "Andrew has more fish to feed". Andrew loves feeding the fish in the big pond. He scares me to death because he sits on the railing, reaches into the cup, and throws the food in the pond and then when the fish eat and splash, he laughs at them!

Like I said, he is amazing! I cannot imagine not being a mom. Andrew makes my life complete!!

Life is crazy!!!

So, go ahead and tell me, I know.... I have lost my mind! I teaching 40 hours a week(anyone that has ever taught knows that teaching is honestly more than 40 hours a week), taking 15 hours of classes through UNT, I have a one year old adorable little man, a husband, and somewhere laundry and cleaning the apartment fit in(or not!).

Andrew is AMAZING! I could not possibly ask for a better little boy! Yes, I said little boy! He isn't a baby anymore(believe me, I have been reminded!). He spent the night last night with Mom and Dad because I have a night class Wednesday nights. I don't know who likes it more, Andrew spending the night with Mimi and Grandpa or my parents! I think Mom was having withdrawls! Dad told me that he took three steps today all by himself!!! He said that Andrew didn't even know he did it! And then he realized it and sat down! I love my little man! I don't know if I am ready for him to walk everywhere! That means he doesn't always needy Mommy anymore! :(

Summer School is Over!

Summer school is finally over! I took 4 classes this summer. I made three B's and one A! I am pretty proud of myself, especially since it is marketing and I have no idea what I am doing! :)

I started my new job last week! I absolutely LOVE it! I am working at North Star Learning Center in Richardson. I am teaching two year olds. Last week we had in-service and training. We have training and time to decorate my classroom next week and then extended day starts on the 18th and school starts on the 25th! I am so excited! I am really in a wonderful place with great colleagues!

The Lord has been working!!! Patience and Pray has worked! :)

Looking Back...

How cute is he?!
Mommy made him smile!
Daddy taught him this. It must be a "guy thing"!
Adorable!
Eating a yummy birthday cake! He would not smile while he was eating his cake- he was concentrating too hard!!

So, on the 28th my little man will be one year old... HOLY COW!!! I cannot believe it! Roy and I were going through Andrew's clothes the other day and we were putting clothes in storage boxes that he cannot fit into any more. AND we started putting some of his "baby" toys away. Yes, I cried. Roy that I was a dork, but I cannot believe that it is time to put away "baby" toys already. And when I look at some of the 12 month clothes(especially shorts!) I am like-No way those are going to fit him and sure enough, they do! There are sometimes that I will Andrew could walk, feed himself, and do other things to make things easier for me, but in reality- I don't want him to! I want him to be my baby forever. I want to be able to protect him from everything, like I can now. I don't want him to know that the world can be a mean place and that there are mean people. I don't want him to have to go through people dying, pets dying, arguing, fighting, hear ugly words, be around mean people, not getting treated fairly, getting his heart broken, be let down, be disappointed, and especially- me, as a mom, living as the best mom I can be. I like to think that I am a "good" mom, but I know there are so many things that I could do better and I don't want to disappoint my son...

Today was Andrew's 1st bad day at church. Normally, I don't even get the chance to walk away from the window before he is off playing and he could care less about me! Today was different, he was a little reluctant to go. So, the worried mom came out in me. I went to the Director of Sunday school's office and could watch Andrew on the video camera. He would not let Roy, the nursery teacher, put him down! My Roy kept saying, come on, he's fine... All through the sermon, I could just FEEL that something was wrong. When I got to the nursery he was actually in a different classroom with two other children and two women. And one of the women was holding him and he had huge alligator tears running down his face. I felt horrible!!! I think he has another tooth coming in. He is almost a year old and he only has one tooth! He is so funny because he chews food like that he has a mouthful of teeth!

It took Roy and I 6 different churches before we finally agreed on the church we attend now. Preston Ridge Baptist Church. I grew up Presbyterian and Roy grew up in a non-denominational church. I think it's funny that we ended up at a Baptist church because Tom, the pastor at my Presbyterian church, would always make jokes about the Baptist church next door. I LOVE the church we go to!! It is not too old, not too young. I wish we could get on a better schedule and find a Sunday School class that fit us. Deep down, I know that it means Andrew being in the nursery even longer-so maybe not?! Anyways, the sermon was wonderful today. It was titled, "The 7 Habits of Increasingly Wise People". The preacher said it was also the name of a book. After each habit he gave us something that we should be able to do if we had accomplished each habit. So after each habit the thing we should be able to do it listed. Here they are:

1.Wise people listen to instruction. *I practice listening more than speaking*

2. Wise people listen to correction. *I accept correction without bitterness*

3. Wise people spend time with wise people. *I make friends with those who look like Jesus*

4. Wise people remember and use what they learn. *I remember and practice the lessons I learn*

5. Wise people flee from sin. *I don't believe sin is ok*

6. Wise people watch what they say. *I exercise control over what I say*

7. Wise people point others to Jesus. *I share Jesus with others*

I don't know if I could check off any of those things. I do some of them occasionally, but I don't do it consistently. I know I should. That is one of my goals!!

So, since this is already super long, hey- why not make it longer! I start my new job tomorrow!! Yeah me! I will be teaching either an infant class or a 1 year old class at North Star Learning Center at Canyon Creek Presbyterian Church in Richardson. I cannot wait! The school is amazing! The best part is that Andrew gets to go with me! He will be going Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Tuesday he will be with Roy and Thursdays he will be with my mom. This fall I am taking 15 hours and I have a night class on Wednesday nights, so he will spend the night with my parents every Wednesday night. Another great thing is that the school is less than 7 miles away from our apartment! Yeah for saving gas money! The third great thing is that I will be making great money! Another thing that I am exciting about is that it is a Christian based school and has a Christian based curriculum. It could not get any better! So, everyone say a pray and wish me luck!!

P.S. I have two tests that start tomorrow and end Tuesday evening, two quizzes that end on the 7th, a final that starts Wednesday and ends Thursday at noon, and a project to be completed by the 5th.... Aren't you jealous?!

Fun at the Park!

Yeah I know, I know, it's been forever!!!!

It has been forever that I have posted anything!! Andrew is now 9 months old!!! He has gotten so big, so fast! I cannot believe it! Roy took him to the Dr. for his 9 month check- up on June 3rd. Andrew weighs 21 lbs 2 oz and he is 29 1/2 inches long!!! So, I guess he is going to take after my dad and be tall and skinny! He used to be my chunky monkey, but he is not so chunky any more!!! :( He is very tall though.

Andrew was invited to his first birthday party. My mom's friend, Sandy granddaughter, Avery, turned one. Andrew loves Avery!!! She was walking around the house and Andrew would crawl after her and growl at her! Mimi, my mom, has taught him how to growl!!! Andrew will be the boy in kindergarten growling at the girls!!! :) Besides, Mommy is the only girl he needs!!! :) :)

As for me, I have completed my first summer class and I received a B. I have three more classes this summer and 15 hours this fall. I know I have lost my mind, but feel free to remind me!! Since I am a substitute teacher, I don't get paid during the summer, so I am desperately trying to find a job for this summer!! If anyone has any ideas, feel free to share!! :)

I promise that since summer is here and I have more time, I will post more frequently!! Promise!!

Family Day!

I took off Tuesday so we could have a family day. We haven't had a day off together in a long time! We took Andrew to Mesquite so we could take his pictures in the bluebonnets! Andrew smiles ALL of the time! BUT when I sat him down in the bluebonnets, he was like, "What are you doing to me Mom!??" He kept his hands up and would not smile! So I think after work on Monday I am going to try again! After the pictures we went to the mall and walked around and ate Subway, and then did some people watching! Afterwards we went to Grandma and Grandpa's house to see Rani and hang out for a little bit! Since I took off Tuesday, the past two days have been crazy busy at work! And with the lovely storm last night, I have not slept the past two nights....Good night all!! XOXO

Weekend With Mommy!

Andrew and I did NOTHING yesterday! We had so much fun playing and we took a good nap together! Last night we went over to the Gill's house. We were going to go to a movie, but plans changed. So we went to El Fenix. It was Andrew's 1st experience in a high chair in a resturant! Boy was that fun! He has an amazing reach! So Alex, Debbie and I had to eat on one half of the table and Andrew had the rest of the table to himself!! We didn't get home until 10 and we went straight to bed! Since I didn't get anything done yesterday, today is make-up day! I have been cleaning house and apparently I am boring because he took both of his naps really early today! Now since Daddy is off work, he and Andrew are playing so I can sit down! I guess that's it for today- more tomorrow!!

XOXO~

Today my Little Man stayed at home with Daddy. I hate going to work on Tuesdays and leaving the two of them in bed. I hate driving to work by myself! After work I went and donated blood and then met my boys at the softball field in Allen because Roy was playing ball. Andrew and I sat in the dugout and watched him play! We had to snuggle because we were in the shade and it was breezy! My Dad called because he was playing a double-header in Mesquite and wanted Andrew and I to come watch him play! Actually, he cared more about Andrew being there so he could show off his Grandson- "Everyone elses' grandkids were there but mine!"-Jay Hartsell (he said it in a very good pouty voice :) Next week Andrew and I are going to try to be there so Dad won't feel left out!! Since we have been home Andrew and I have been playing in the floor. He is absolutely amazing! He rolls all over the place! Every time he is on his belly, he pulls his knees up and rocks back and forth- he will be crawling in no time! My Little Man is getting too big too fast!! Have a great night!

Starting Anew

So, I am starting this in hopes to keep everyone updated on Mr. Andrew! I will (or at least try!) to blog and post pictures every other day. Hopefully! We will see how it goes!

I absolutely love the weekends! Not only because I am not at work, but because I get to spend every minute with my little man! He is growing so fast! He doesn't even look like a baby anymore. He is my little man! This is what he is doing now: rolling-everywhere!, sitting up, pulls his legs up to crawl-but he only rocks back and forth, drools like crazy-but no teeth yet, talks like crazy- he says "Momma", sits in a highchair without leaning, eats like crazy-baby food, puffs/cheerios, butter bisquits. He laughs ALL the time! He is so much fun to be around and immediately puts me in a good mood!

I guess I better get in bed! Let's see how long I can keep this up!
